Set your currency, timezone and working hours

Three workspace defaults that quietly affect everything else: the currency money-bearing records inherit, the timezone every date and job runs in, and the working hours that decide when your workspace counts as open.

Updated August 2026

These three settings look like housekeeping and are not. Each one is read by parts of the system you would not expect, and each one is easier to set correctly now than to correct across existing records later.

Who this is for

Workspace admins. These are tenant-wide settings, not per-user preferences.

Before you start

  • Admin access to workspace settings.
  • Agreement on which currency your team reports in, if you trade in more than one.

What each one actually controls
Currency is the fallback for every money-bearing record that does not carry its own — deals, quotes and products inherit it when they do not set one explicitly, and it must be a currency the product supports end to end. Timezone drives the clock for every request and every background job in your workspace, so it decides what a due date or a scheduled send actually means. Working hours are optional: when nothing is configured, the workspace is treated as always open.

Set them

  1. Open workspace settings
Go to Settings. These live at the workspace level, so what you set here applies to everyone — they are not personal preferences.
  2. Choose the currency
Pick the currency your team reports in. It has to be one of the supported currencies, because the product carries it end to end rather than just rendering a symbol.
  3. Choose the timezone
Set the timezone your team works in. Every date and time in the workspace is evaluated in this zone, including background jobs, so a wrong value shows up as tasks and reminders landing at odd hours.
  4. Set working hours, if you want them
You can configure one window that applies to all seven days, or a different window per weekday. A weekday you leave out is treated as closed — that is how you express a weekend.
  5. Leave working hours unset if you do not need them
An unconfigured value means no constraint: the workspace counts as open at all times. That is a deliberate default, so you do not have to configure hours just to make things work.

What you get

  • Money displays and calculates in one consistent currency across the workspace.
  • Dates, reminders and scheduled work happen at the times your team actually expects.
  • An explicit statement of when you are open, for the features that care about it.
  • Fewer per-record corrections later, because new records inherit the right defaults.

Frequently asked questions

If I change the workspace currency, do existing deals change?

No. Records that already carry a currency keep it. The workspace setting is the fallback for records that do not specify one, so changing it affects what new records inherit rather than rewriting history.

Can different users have different timezones?

The timezone is a workspace-level setting and drives the clock for requests and background jobs across the whole workspace. It is not a per-user preference.

What happens if I do not configure working hours?

Nothing breaks. An unset or empty value is read as no constraint configured, which means always open. Configure hours only if you want the distinction.

How do I mark weekends as closed?

Use the per-weekday form and simply leave Saturday and Sunday out. A weekday with no window configured is treated as closed for that day.
