The drag and drop email designer

Build a responsive HTML email from blocks on a canvas — no HTML required. Built on MJML so it renders consistently, with a classic mode for when you want to write the HTML yourself.

Updated August 2026

HTML email is notoriously hard to get right, because mail clients render it inconsistently and Outlook is its own category of problem. The designer exists so you do not have to solve that yourself.

You arrange blocks on a canvas; the layout compiles through MJML, which is the framework built specifically to make responsive HTML email render consistently.

Who this is for

Anyone building a designed email — marketing sends, announcements, or a template the team will reuse.

Before you start

  • Permission to manage email templates.
  • Your logo and any images you want to use.
  • No HTML knowledge. That is the point of the designer.

Two modes, deliberately
The designer is the visual, block-based mode. Classic mode exists for when you want to hand-write or paste your own HTML. Both are supported — pick the one that fits the job rather than fighting the other one.

Build a designed email

  1. Start from a starter layout
Beginning from the starter gallery rather than a blank canvas gets you to a clean, working layout much faster, and you can replace everything in it.
  2. Drag in the blocks you need
Text, image, button, divider, spacer and multi-column blocks arrange on the canvas. Structure the email out of blocks rather than trying to lay it out freehand.
  3. Style each block in the inspector
Select a block and adjust it. Because the layout compiles through MJML, the responsive behaviour comes from the structure rather than from you writing media queries.
  4. Let AI draft a block if you are stuck
Kudos AI can generate a content block or draft copy in place, which is usually a faster way into a first draft than a blank text block.
  5. Preview mobile and desktop
Check both before sending. Emails reflow automatically, but seeing it is what catches an image that is too large or a button that wraps.
  6. Save it as a reusable template
Save the design and it can be pulled into campaigns and sequence steps, so the layout is built once and reused.

What you get

  • A designed, responsive email without writing HTML or media queries.
  • Consistent rendering across clients, including Outlook, because of MJML and a send-time sanitizer that preserves Outlook conditional markup.
  • A reusable template rather than a one-off message.
  • A classic HTML escape hatch when you want full control.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know HTML?

No. You assemble the email from blocks on a canvas and style them in an inspector. Classic mode is there if you do want to write HTML.

Will it render properly in Outlook?

That is what building on MJML is for. A send-time sanitizer also preserves responsive rules and Outlook conditional markup while stripping unsafe active content.

Can I reuse one design across campaigns and sequences?

Yes. Save it as a template and pull it into a campaign or a sequence step rather than rebuilding it.

Can I paste in HTML from somewhere else?

Yes — switch to classic mode. The editor supports both the visual designer and classic HTML.
