Build a view

1. Filter to what you want
   Combine owner, tag, field values and dates. Deals in particular support a large set of filters, so be specific rather than approximate.
2. Choose your columns
   Show the fields you make decisions on. A list with the wrong columns still requires opening every record, which defeats the point.
3. Sort it usefully
   Sort by whatever decides what you do first — close date, last activity, value.
4. Save it with a clear name
   Name it for the job it does, so a colleague understands it without opening it.

6. Prune views you stopped using
