Summarize a deal or contact

Ask Kudos AI to read a record's notes and history and hand you back a plain-language recap — where the deal stands, what's happened, and what's open — so you walk into the call already caught up.

Updated August 2026

Before a call you skim the timeline: a dozen notes, a few emails, two meetings, a stalled task. It takes ten minutes and you still might miss the thing that matters. Kudos AI reads all of it for you and writes a short, plain-language recap of where the deal or contact actually stands — what's happened, who's involved, and what's still open.

This is a real Claude summary grounded in that specific record's notes and history — not a generic blurb. It's meant to save you the skim, not to replace your judgment: the recap is a starting point you read and trust as far as the underlying notes are honest. As with everything in Kudos AI, it's clearly labeled and logged, and it never changes the record.

Who this is for

Reps prepping for a call, managers reviewing an account they don't work daily, and anyone inheriting a deal mid-cycle.

Before you start

  • A deal or contact with some notes and history to summarize.
  • AI enabled for your workspace (usage is logged and quota-guarded).
  • Nothing else — the summary reads what's already on the record.

What's real AI here — and what's not yet
The record summary is a genuine Claude (haiku-4-5) call that reads the record's notes and history and writes a recap. It's read-only, AI-labeled, and usage-logged — it never edits the record. Note the difference from the in-record 'AI insights / deal risk' card: that scoring is rule-based and seeded, not a model, so it's marked 'Soon' as real AI. Predictive next-best-action is real only as a workflow step, not as in-record scoring.

Get the recap

  1. Open the deal or contact
Go to the record you want caught up on. The summary reads that record's notes, activity, and history — so the more honestly your team has logged, the better the recap.
  2. Ask AI to summarize
Choose the summarize action. Kudos AI reads the notes and timeline and writes a short recap: where things stand, what's happened recently, and what's open.
  3. Read it as a briefing, not gospel
Use the recap to get oriented fast, then glance at the timeline for anything that needs your own read. The summary reflects what's logged — it can't know what nobody wrote down.
  4. Carry it into the next action
With the picture in hand, jump straight to the next step — draft the follow-up with the email assistant, add a task, or move the deal. The summary doesn't change the record; you decide what to do next.

What you get

  • A plain-language recap of where a deal or contact stands, in seconds.
  • Context built from the actual notes and history — not a generic template.
  • A read-only summary that never edits the record.
  • A faster jump into the next action, with every use logged.

Frequently asked questions

What does the AI actually read to make the summary?

It reads the record's own notes, activity, and history — the timeline on that deal or contact. It's grounded in your data, so the recap reflects what's actually been logged rather than a generic description.

Is this a real AI summary or a canned blurb?

It's a real AI summary — a genuine call to Anthropic's Claude (haiku-4-5) model over the record's notes and history. It writes for this specific record each time, not from a fixed template, and the use is clearly labeled and logged.

Does summarizing change the record?

No. The summary is read-only — it never edits notes, fields, or stages. It hands you a recap to read; any change to the record is something you do yourself afterward.

Is the 'deal risk' or 'AI insights' card the same thing as this summary?

No, and we keep them honestly separate. The record summary is a real Claude call. The in-record deal-risk / AI-insights card is rule-based and seeded — not a model — so we mark it 'Soon' as real AI rather than dressing it up. Treat the summary as the genuinely AI-powered read.

How good is the summary if our notes are thin?

It can only summarize what's on the record. If the notes are sparse or out of date, the recap will be too — it isn't inventing context. The fix is the same one that helps everywhere: log the things that matter as you go, and the summary repays it.
