Notification preferences
Decide what you get told about and where. The goal is a small number of notifications you actually read, rather than a stream you learn to ignore.
Updated August 2026
Notification settings have one honest goal: for you to still be reading them in three months. Every notification you keep that you do not act on trains you to ignore the ones you should.
Who this is for
Every user. These are personal preferences, not admin settings.
Before you start
- Nothing. You can change your own preferences at any time.
Turn things off until it hurts
The usual mistake is leaving everything on and then filtering mentally, which stops working within a week. Start by switching off anything you have never acted on. If you miss something important, turn that one back on — you will end up with a short list that actually works.
Tune your notifications
- Open your notification preferences
These are yours, not the workspace's. Colleagues can have completely different settings. - Decide what deserves interrupting you
An assignment to you, a reply from a customer, an escalation. Things that need you to act. - Turn off the informational ones
Anything you have never once acted on is a candidate. You can always find it in the app when you want it. - Choose the channel per type
Some things belong in the app, some deserve an email. Reserve email for what genuinely needs to reach you when you are not looking. - Adjust after a fortnight
Two weeks in, you will know which ones you actually read. Cut the rest.
What you get
- Notifications you actually read.
- Interruptions reserved for things that need action.
- Per-person settings, so a manager and a rep can differ.
- Less noise competing with the alerts that matter.
Frequently asked questions
Are these settings mine or the whole workspace's?
Yours. Notification preferences are per user, so everyone can tune their own.
Will I miss something important if I turn things off?
The record is still in the app whether or not you were notified. Turning off a notification changes whether you are interrupted, not whether the thing happened.
What should stay on?
Things that need you specifically to act — assignments to you, customer replies, escalations. Informational updates about other people's work are usually the first to go.
Can an admin set notifications for everyone?
These are personal preferences. What an admin controls is which events exist and who can see what, not what lands in your notification list.
